Walsh is a hard-edge painter with a soft touch. I first encountered Walsh's work at his show with Paula Cooper in 2003 while visiting the city from LA. I was struck then, like I am now, by how Walsh transforms traditionally harsh geometric abstraction into soft thoughtful surfaces.
